what is the askew award?

The Askew Award refers to the George C. Askew Award, an annual honor given by the The National Certified Public Manager® Consortium (NCPMC) for exemplary Capstone Projects completed by Certified Public Manager® (CPM) candidates. It recognizes outstanding public sector management practices and is awarded to winners with a silver medallion. 

Key details regarding the George C. Askew Award include:

  • Purpose: To recognize management practices that demonstrate the Academy's philosophy, focusing on projects with significant impact.
  • Recipients: It is awarded to individuals or teams who complete exceptional capstone projects as part of their CPM training.
  • Name Origin: Named in honor of George C. Askew, the first individual to be certified by a CPM program.
